An industrial waterfront area with pockets of residences and a growing arts district, the Dogpatch is located east of Potrero Hill, and its street boundaries are 16th, Third and Cesar Chavez streets and Potrero Avenue. Third Street located in the middle of Dogpatch is where you’ll find many bars, pubs, restaurants, Museum of Craft & Design and the MUNI train for an easy commute downtown or to visit Warriors’ Chase Center or the SF Giants Oracle Park. Surviving the 1906 earthquake and fire relatively undamaged, redevelopment did not begin until the late 1990’s where warehouses and factories were converting into offices or condos during the dot com boom. Recently, with the new Chase Center, UCSF Hospital, it’s first neighborhood grocery store, Mainstay Markets and park at Pier 70 coming soon, residential redevelopment continues to surge in this upcoming neighborhood!
