Welcome to the Marina District, which has a rich history that dates back to the earthquake of 1906. Development of the neighborhood began after the quake when tons of rock and brick rubble destroyed many of San Francisco’s downtown buildings. These materials were dumped into the marshlands of the Marina, and it created an initial foundation for community development. Houses and businesses popped up rapidly until the Marina became one of the city’s most desirable places to live.

With picturesque views of the Bay, the Marina district attracts foodies and shoppers to the area. The streets are lined with boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment venues. With new apartment buildings, thriving nightlife, and an exciting singles’ scene, the Marina is full of 20- and 30-year-olds and young professionals. The community really feels like a resort tucked inside of San Francisco.
